Consortium of NLUs
NLUs administered the CLAT on a rotating basis from 2018 to 2018. The CLAT Exam will now be administered by the Consortium of NLUs starting in 2019. The CLAT Consortium, also known as NLSIU Bangalore, is the headquarters of the Consortium. It consists of these members:
- An Executive Committee
- The CLAT Convenor for the past year
- The following year’s CLAT Convenor
- Two Vice-Chancellors co-opted by NLU
Professor Sudhir Krishnaswamy (Vice-Chancellor, NLSIU Bangalore) is the Convenor for CLAT 2023. The CLAT Consortium’s president has been elected to be Professor Poonam Saxena (ViceChancellor).
What is CLAT?
CLAT Entrance Exam is a national Law Entrance Exam that allows candidates to apply for undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG), law programs at 22 NLUs, private schools, and universities that accept CLAT Scores. The CLAT Exam results can also be used by public agencies such as ONGC or BHEL for recruitment.
Candidates who want to be admitted to top NLUs in India will choose CLAT as their law entrance exam. The CLAT Entrance Examination is taken by approximately 50,000 candidates. Eligibility for the CLAT Exam 2023
Candidates must ensure that they meet the CLAT Examination 2023 Eligibility Criteria before filling out an application form. This includes information about the educational qualifications and age limits.
CLAT Maximum Age
According to the CLAT 2023 eligibility criteria, candidates who apply for the CLAT exam for PG and UG are not restricted in age. Candidates can only take the CLAT Exam if they meet the basic educational requirements.
CLAT Education Qualification
Below are details regarding the CLAT 2023 Educational qualification. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized university. Common Law Admission Test CLAT is open to candidates who have completed Class 12th. Candidates who have passed Class 12th are eligible to take the Common Law Admission Test CLAT. However, they will not be admitted unless they fulfill all of these eligibility conditions.
- Candidats must be able to pass the 12th grade or an equivalent exam at a university or board that is recognized.
- For General/OBC/Specially-abled person (SAP), the percentage criteria are 45%.
- The percentage criteria for SC/ST are 40%.
