PM Modi launches rural road scheme in Himachal pradesh
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-III in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.
The Prime Minister also launched Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) – III in Himachal Pradesh for the upgradation of around 3125 kilometres of roads in the state. More than Rs. 420 crores has been sanctioned by the Central Government under this phase for the upgradation of 440 kilometres of roads in 15 border and far flung blocks of the state.

FIFA: Tazuni unveiled as mascot for 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup
Penguin Tazuni has been unveiled as the official mascot of next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurates Asia’s largest Compressed Bio Gas plant in Punjab
Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated Asia’s largest Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant in Lehragaga, Sangrur, Punjab.
The CBG Plant at Sangrur was inaugurated with an FDI investment of Rs. 220 crores by Verbio AG, one of the top bioenergy companies in Germany. It is spread out across around 20 acres and currently produces about 6 Tons Per Day (TPD) of CBG.

Chhattisgarh launched “Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store” Scheme
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has virtually launched a new scheme named ‘Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme’ to provide low-cost generic medicines and enable seamless healthcare services to the vulnerable people of the state. The scheme will be implemented by the Urban Administration and Development Department (UADD). Under the scheme, around 188 medical shops are planned to be opened in 169 cities. Currently, 84 generic medical shops are opened in the inaugural session to distribute medicine. Under this scheme, people will get a discount between 09 percent and 71 percent on the MRP (Market Rate Price) of generic medicines.

The new controller general of accounts (CGA)
Bharati Das, a 1988-batch Indian Civil Services (ICAS) officer, took charge as the new controller general of accounts (CGA) in the department of expenditure, ministry of finance, government of India with effect from October 18th, 2022.
Bharati Das is the 27th controller general of accounts for the ministry of finance.

ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 mission may get launch in June 2023: Chairman Dr Somnath
Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO) has planned to launch the 3rd mission to the moon, Chandrayan-3, in June 2023 onboard launch vehicle mark-3 (LVM3). A robust lunar rover onboard C-3 will play a major role in future interplanetary exploration.
I) Chandrayan-3 (C-3) is a follow-up mission of Chandrayaan-2 (July 2019) that aims to land a rover on the lunar south pole.
II) It will carry a modified lander and rover, and it will use the orbiter of the Chandrayaan-2 mission to communicate with Earth.
III) ISRO has also lined up the first test flight of the abort mission for Gaganyaan, the first human spaceflight. The mission is expected to be launched in December 2024.

Police Commemoration Day
Police Commemoration Day (Police Martyrs Day) 2022 was observed across India on October 21st, 2022 to remember the sacrifices of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and pay tribute to them.
The Police Commemoration Day parade has been held at the national police memorial in Chanakpuri, New Delhi, every year since 2012.
II) “The Wall of Valour”-a 30 foot tall granite sculpture stands at the police memorial with the names of over 35000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and reminds them of their bravery and glory.
